This paper describes a new method of operating the display screens of viewing devices for electronic public notices, electronic books, and so on. This method works with watch-type wristbands worn by the user to operate a display screen by arm movements. The acceleration of the arm movement is detected in three axial directions to determine which operation to perform. The determined operation is then transmitted to the display screen by radio transmission, and the display screen of the viewing device is operated accordingly. Based on a proposal, an experimental system model was prepared where tap, swipe, scroll, and other actions were performed on the display screen. It was confirmed that the operations presented in the proposal could be performed successfully.
