Impact of ultra wide band (UWB) on digital audio broadcasting (DAB) and digital television (DTV) systems

The effect of the UWB transmitters on the digital television cell range is studied. The effect of the UWB transmitters on the DAB receiver (with a set-top antenna) performance is studied. It is shown that the DAB receiver can not tolerate an UWB power density of -90 dBm/MHz when the separation between the UWB transmitter and the DAB receiver is 1 m at DAB frequency of 1465 MHz. It is noticed that the DAB receiver can tolerate an UWB power density of -105 dBm/MHz even if the separation is less than 1 m for DAB frequency of 200 MHz. It is shown that, the DTV receiver can not tolerate an UWB power density of -96 dBm/MHz when a separation between the UWB transmitter and the DTV receiver is 1 m at DTV frequency of 500 MHz
