Among the interests of the studied flow is the disturbances caused by the fluid creating aerodynamic forces, which implies the appearance of noise, erosion, vibrations ...etc., at the profile level. The aim of this study is to investigate and analyze the influence of the roughness of a profile NACA 63-430 performance using CFX code. For this purpose, the investigation is split in two major parts; a smooth surface is used to understand the phenomenon of flows around obstacles firstly then a rough surface is investigated. Drag and lift coefficient are simulated for both surfaces. These numerical results show a good agreement with experimental data. Moreover, the analyses showed that for a profile of a meter of chord, aerodynamic coefficients decrease quickly when the roughness increases until a critical value of 0.3 mm where the lift decreases and drag increases. Beyond this critical value, the variation of forces became slow.
