REINFORCING SAND WITH STRIPS OF RECLAIMED HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE

A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned title by Benson and Khire, published in this journal (Volume 120, Number 5, May 1994), is presented. The discussion focuses on the dry unit weights of the tested sand and the methods of sand densification employed to obtain a 100 percent relative density of the sand fraction. Discussion is followed by closure from the author.
