Miejsce metody DEMATEL w rozwiązywaniu złożonych zadań decyzyjnych

DEMATEL was developed in the early 1970s to provide necessary means for identification of roles played by cause-effect chain system components. The method was initially applied to identify the nature of contemporary world’s economic, social, and environmental problems. The method’s merits made it popular again at the beginning of the new century. The range of method’s applications extended a lot. The contemporary applications of the method deal with complex problems which are totally different from its original purpose. The method proves to be a useful tool for providing necessary data for other approaches. It can also benefit from the application of other approaches. The method is utilized to extend numerous decision and management support approaches as well. A review of such applications of the method are discussed in the paper.
