A NOISE JOURNEY OF A NEW SUBWAY LINE IN BEI- JING

Many railbound vehicle noise measurement standards have instructed relevant test method under standard testing condition. But what would the noise level be for the subway trains operating on real lines, as there are many real environment factors would significantly affect the noise emission level? Recently, an on board noise measurement was carried out on a newly built subway line in Beijing. The testing line section covered almost all typical subway line structures, including underground tunnels, ground rail, elevated rail, and station platforms. A noise map of the test line was drawn which intuitively reveals how much effect different subway line sections have on the operating noise level. Therefore, further study on subway noise generation mechanism and noise reduction strategies can be performed referring the measurement results.
