Instructions in certainty: rapid simulation modeling now!

Simulation modeling is well-recognized as being iterative as models are built, run, refined and re-run for a given scenario, such as different design options. The industrial engineer can use simulation for assessing different design scenarios rather than improving the final scenario. Data-driven simulators are defined as systems that allow a user to create a running model without the need to do any programming. Numerous simulation models are created during the design of a production line resulting from changes to numbers of machines, cycle times, process quality and expected output rates. The models include details of buffers, selection of rules, conditional routings, scrap rates and operator behavior. It is important to reduce the model building time to allow simulation to influence the selection and refinement of design concepts.
