In this article, the health education towards the chronic disease bearer is approached, contextualizing with the influence that the social network structure exert upon people. For that, it has as its objective to make a reflection about the education in health related with the chronic diseases and its implication with the social networks, aiming at contextualizing the importance of an education which tries to articulate popular knowledge and scientific knowledge, as well as complement knowledge. The reflection built here is the product of discussions carried out during research about the theme, among undergraduate and graduate students, in the research group of the authors.The social networks influence the health-disease process of construction and perception. It is defended that the education in health, as a social practice, aims at the autonomy development and the co-responsibility of the subjects and social groups in the care of their health. Also, that the health professionals recognize and congregate the different knowledge, making possible the effectiveness of the actions. It is still considered the complexity of the autonomous decision promotion, for it comprehends the individual relations with their environment, that is, with the social networks in which they are inserted.
