Active Filter Design Using a Two-Graph Based Transformation Technique

The general two-graph framework for active filter design is presented. It is based on the transformation of passive lossless and lossy LC-filters into active RC-circuits using the two-graph technique. The basic idea is to use exclusively RC elements and the newly introduced “active switches”. Thus, parameters of such filters should depend only on the values of resistors and capacitors and not on the parameters of the active elements. The proposed approach is illustrated through examples. SPICE simulation results are presented to show the viability of the proposed approach.
