Associative parallel-search memory

One of the promising approaches to the development of associative memories involves the use of correlation search for key words. However, since tag words do not have a priori specified autocorrelation and mutual correlation properties, it is necessary to code the key words in such a way as to obtain satisfactory correlation characteristics. It is proposed that the key words be coded by binary orthogonal sequences. The properties of these sequences are given and a tag storage unit for an associative memory is described.
