Restaurações Biológicas em Dentes Decíduos: revisão de literatura

A problem commonly faced in pediatric dental clinic is the restoration of teeth severely destroyed by trauma or caries. However, the importance of preserving the integrity of primary dentition until the appropriate exfoliation time is well recognized. A biologic restoration technique using dental fragments obtained from extracted human teeth which had been previously sterilized and stored in a tooth bank. This review article examines biological restorations as to historical aspects, bank teeth, advantages and disadvantages, and operatory technique. We concluded that the use of biologic restorations resulted in clinical success as well as recovered function and esthetics, being an alternative to prosthodontic restoration for severely-destroyed primary teeth.
