Development of minitype microstrip antenna for GPS applications

Introduced were the theory of the minitype microstrip antenna and present status of microwave dielectric material. Based on our company specialized researching microwave dielectric material and microstrip antenna theory, a minitype microstrip antenna for GPS was designed and fabricated. When the sample antenna works at 1.575 GHz, the 10 dB of bandwidth is above 10 MHz, return waveloss is below -20 dB and axial ratio is below 4 dB. It fully meets the GPS application. Finally, combining the analysis of the experimental results and mass production, a miniature trend for further development is also proposed.
