Numerical simulation analysis on fault pillar optimization of fully mechanized caving in thick coal seam

According to engineering geological conditions of one certain coal mine, YF20-3 fault of the mine is without water and not leading water by detection and analysis. In order to make full utilization of coal resources, fault pillar is optimized with FLAC3D software in this paper. Based on numerical simulation of fault pillar optimization in fully mechanized caving face, we analyzed dynamic failure mechanism of fault pillar, determined rational leaving width of fault pillar, and provided supporting scheme and influence law that was the fault and fully mechanized caving face mining to gate road. The field experiment shows that fault pillar leaving is rational and supporting scheme of gate road is scientific.
