Space-frequency optimization for ground moving target indication with airborne multi-channel multi-frequency radar

It is difficult to give consideration to both the maximum unambiguous velocity and the minimum detectable velocity(MDV)simultaneously in the single frequency uniform linear array radar system.A non-uniform linear array radar system with multiple carrier-frequencies provides an approach to settle the problem. However, the detect performance is impacted by the array pattern and frequency values, which need to be optimized to reach the best detect result.A space-frequency joint optimization method to minimize the undetected velocity region is presented, which performs better when compared with a cascade optimization method under limited conditions.A preliminary result against an airborne simulation data demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
