Blind inter carrier interference compensation in MIMO SC-IFDMA system using firefly algorithm

Abstract A mathematical formulation of the detrimental effects of carrier frequency offset (CFO) and channel on uplink MIMO single carrier frequency division multiple access system with interleaved subcarrier mapping (SC-IFDMA) is carried out, and a linear filter is derived to counteract the performance degradation, under the assumption of perfect knowledge of CFO. Later on, the assumption on CFO parameter is removed, and a blind interference cancelation scheme based on firefly algorithm is proposed. The typical structure of the interference in SC-IFDMA is utilized in developing a low complexity implementation model for the proposals. The extensive simulation study is carried out using MATLAB and the significant features of the proposals were substantiated.
