Eisenerz-Vorkommen im Solling, Reinhardswald und Bramwald (Südniedersachsen und Nordhessen) und deren geochemische Charakterisierung im Rahmen eines Archäometallurgie-Projekts

In the framework of an interdisciplinary archaeometallurgical project hydroxydical iron ores in the Solling, Reinhardswald and Bramwald area (Southern Lower Saxony and Northern Hesse) are analysed by x-ray-fluorescence and compared with an adjacent sedimentary iron ore deposit. Characteristical geochemical "fingerprints" of three groups of ore specimens could be clearly discriminated with respect to their regional and geological genetical origin. Using this data-base for provenance studies the following investigation steps will focus on slugs and iron artefacts.
