International Response to the Challenge of Measuring Solar Ultra-Violet Radiation

A great deal of scientific research is now being focused on measuring ultraviolet radiation. Directly measuring ultraviolet radiation is difficult, particularly when trying to achieve absolute accuracy of greater than 5%. Advances in instrumentation, calibration and monitoring procedures have improved the state of the art considerably in the past decade. However, a great many of the challenges facing this field are still being addressed by independent research efforts and collaborative approaches. An overview of the recent efforts in this field are covered as well as a review of present research goals and challenges.
