Le digital divide ou gouffre numerique, designe l'exclusion sociale engendree par la privation d'information, quelle soit imposee par la pauvrete generale du pays ou liee aux inegalites entre populations au sein d'un pays plus riche. Les fournisseurs d'information exercent une influence pernicieuse sur la fourniture de biens et services d'information et de communication. La valeur socioeconomique cruciale des ressources d'information requiert que des actions concretes soient entreprises pour reduire les ecarts.
