Optimal Guaranteed Cost Control for Descriptor Systems with Uncertainties

This paper presents results on optimal guaranteed cost control for a class of descriptor systems with norm bounded uncertainties. Two sufficient and necessary con-ditions for the existence of guaranteed cost control are obtained in terms of algebraic Riccati equation and linear matrix inequalities, respectively. Also, two procedures are proposed to select an optimal controller in the sense of minimizing the upper bound of the cost function. A numerical example is given to illustrate the methods.
