Kalibrierung von Universalhärte-Prüfmaschinen, Eindringkörpern und Härtevergleichsplatten

The testing and calibration procedures specified in the proposed standards for the test machines and hardness reference blocks for Universal hardness testing are compared with those specified in the current standards for the hardness testing of metallic materials. The calibration of the indenters used for Universal hardness testing, the measurement of the angles between their surfaces and the identification of possible defects on the surfaces of the indenter are all described. In addition, information is also given regarding possible methods of correcting the measurements obtained, the calibration requirements and newly developed types of hardness reference blocks (glass and advanced ceramics).
