Research and development of a new experimental device for digital relay protection

Nowadays,there are no microcomputer protection devices for experiments available in domestic colleges.This paper analyzes the characteristic of relay protection and summarizes the requirement of experiments of teaching in this field.A full multifunctional microcomputer protection device for experiments is developed.A 16-bit MCU works as the processor with adequate interfaces,and the RS-232 and USB as communicating interfaces.With a configuration software in PC and friendly interface for browsing and setting,it is easy to accomplish all the experiments and do a comparison among them.This instrument contains a JTAG interface for convenience debugging,and a flexible structure for easy disassembling.It helps the experimenters to understand the devices and its process in experiment.
