Two-sided bounds of reliability for large systems

Abstract This paper presents an approach for computing the reliability characteristics of a system with a large number of units. This approach considers the two-sided bounds of nonstationary characteristics as pointwise availability. Statistical uncertainty of initial data about unit reliability is considered as well as its influence on the bounds. It has been proven that an error associated with the two-sided bounds depends on the unit number and has a maximal value.
