Analysis on Photo-catalytic Degradation Efficiency of Formaldehyde in a Semi-physical Simulation Environment of Vehicle Cabin

The semi-physical simulation environment system of vehicle cabin, which is produced by taking a test room as the simulation environment of vehicle crew cabin and balance subsystem as the formaldehyde generation device, is used to study the photo-catalytic degradation efficiency of formaldehyde under different conditions. Experimental results show that good ventilation can improve the degradation effects of formaldehyde. With the increase of initial concentrations of formaldehyde, the degradation efficiency declines, but the degradation results can still reach 80% or more. If the light intensity is changed by changing voltage, the efficiency under the light intensity of 12 V is higher than that under 9 V. The increase of light area could significantly improve the efficiency of photo-catalytic degradation. Comparing with glass as a carrier, the degradation efficiency with leather as a vector carrier is far better. Through the experiment, it is proved that photo degradation materials can totally be used in vehicle environment and have good purification effect on formaldehyde.
