Sequence-specific DNA detection using high-affinity LNA-functionalized gold nanoparticles.

The functionalization of gold nanoparticles with locked nucleic acid (LNA; see image) is reported. These nanoconjugate probes offer immense stability and selectivity towards complementary DNA, allowing the detection of specific DNA sequences.
