Highway Noise Prediction Method Based On Speed—Volume Relationship Model

Speed is one of the most important coefficients in the road traffic noise prediction model. Its accuracy will directly influence the model's result. In order to solve the problem of acquiring flow speed data hard in project stage,a highway noise prediction method is firstly drawn based on speed—volume relationship model under the assumption of equivalent vehicle flow and equivalent vehicle speed. This method uses classical speed—volume relationship model to compute flow speed under the circumstances of flow volume is given.Secondly, using data selected on-the-spot survey, the model's coefficients are calibrated by nonlinear regression analysis.Last, the method is validated and its error range is given using flow volume and noise data selected on expressway segment.
