IMPACTS OF CHANGE ON ADMINISTRATIVE STAFFS IN UNIVERSITIES

The rapid change of the business environment has pushed the universities to cope with unprecedented challenges. The government-funded universities are no longer a "shelter" for employees. In particular, the administrative staffs that provide front-line services to the universities may be more vulnerable, because they appear not to be "academic" for the academic institutions. As such, administrative staffs may be more likely to suffer from the organizational change, and they may accordingly alter their working attitude and behavior. The purpose of this study is to examin e the negative impact of change on these individuals' attitude and behavior at work.
