Based on the data of climate, underlying surface and human activities in resent decades, this paper studied the changes of flood disaster formative environment in the Pearl River Delta. These changes include in the following aspects: Firstly, temperature and precipitation variability have significant increasing trend; Secondly, the river network system becomes simpler, and river-bed has been cut so deep generally and grows narrower than ever before; Thirdly, tidal flat resources becomes smaller and smaller, and estuaries of the Pearl River Delta extend to the sea gradually; Finally, impermeable stratum area grows larger than before in the Pearl River Delta. Based on the hydrological situation of recent several heavy floods, this paper also analyzed the flood response to the change of flood disaster formative environment in the Pearl River Delta.
