Inverse scattering solution with current modeling and Tikhonov regularization

Permittivity reconstruction of dielectric bodies from scattered near-field measurement data is performed by using an equivalent current distribution model and Tikhonov regularization of various orders. It is shown that in the presence of noise in the scattered field data, the application of Tikhonov regularization to the treatment of the equivalent current density integral equation yields an efficient solution of this inverse problem. The proposed procedure is illustrated on a simple example of a two-dimensional inhomogeneous dielectric with emphasis on the optimum selection of the regularization order and the regularization parameter in terms of the noise level.<<ETX>>
