Determination of Design Wave Elements Under Complicated Topographical Condition

With the rapid development of economy,coastal port exploitation becomes faster,and there is a higher requirement to water depth.Meanwhile,since the comparatively better water area resource is decreasing,it is necessary to exploit the tidal inlet of radial shoal to construct ports.Therefore,it is attracting more and more attentions of academic and engineering fields to calculate and study the design wave elements of the proposed project,which is characterized by the lack of observation data and complicated underwater topography.Some suggestions on determination of wave factors in deep water,calculation model and related parameters are put forward based on the practical example of design wave elements' calculation for Rudong Artificial Island project.After several calculations,it is found that by using the combined diffraction-refraction numerical model with reasonable calculation conditions,we can get the result coinciding with the measured data,so the model is applicable to complicated topographical condition.It may serve as a reference for relative projects.
