The topology of mobile ad hoc networks changes rapidly. However, few efforts have focused on the issue of topology control with mobility.A mobility resilient distributed topology control protocol was proposed, referred to as the LTETC.Through the prediction of neighborhood expire time, node could determine the stability of neighbors and then choose the proper ones as the logic neighbors.Through the prediction of local topology expire time, node could computer frequency with which the reconfiguration protocol used to restore the desired network topology was executed.Experiment results show that the proposed protocol significantly reduces the average link broken counts and reconfiguration frequently, decreases the routing protocol message overhead and improves network capacity by supporting a stable topology.
