Summaries with SumUM and its Expansion for Document Understanding Conference (DUC 2002)

We present the results of the DUC 2002 evaluation on an adaptation of SumUM which had previously been used for producing abstracts of scientific and technical papers. Although we did not modify the original manually developed algorithms or dictionary of concepts for this evaluation, the results are among the best of all systems that participated in DUC 2002 which was on a completely different domain.
