Coil optimization for homogeneous magnetic field with small leakage field

The paper describes the optimization technique of coils which generate a homogeneous magnetic field area inside the coils but very small leakage field outside. These requirements are necessary to carry out effective electromagnetic exposure experiments. Introducing algorithms that considerably reduce iterative computations in the optimization, the authors could successfully determine coil parameters, which fulfill the requirements by a margin. In the optimization process, Levenberg-Marquardt method and proposed "filtering by weight" technique were used to achieve a deviation of 0.3% from a uniform field and 0.01 ppm for a magnitude of the leakage in the specified areas.
