On dynamic feedback linearization of an induction motor

This paper proposes a new method of dynamic feedback linearization control of an induction motor. It is known that the fifth-order induction motor dynamics given in a stator fixed a-b reference frame is dynamically feedback linearizable. The proposed in literature controller exhibits, however, several drawbacks which preclude its industrial application. Therefore, another approach has been recently proposed for a reduced (third-order) model given in a rotating reference frame. The contribution of this paper is the solution of the dynamic feedback linearization problem for a full fifth-order induction motor dynamics in a rotating d-q reference frame. Moreover, the resulting control and feedback computations are simple enough to be implemented with existing digital signal processing technology.
