Method and device for intercepting video content

The disclosure relates to a method and a device for intercepting video content. The method comprises the steps as follows: receiving an content intercepting operation of a user terminal to video content displayed currently; generating a content intercepting request comprising a timestamp according to the content intercepting operation, wherein the content intercepting request is used for requesting a picture or a video corresponding to the timestamp from camera equipment for shooting the video content; transmitting the content intercepting request to the camera equipment, and obtaining the picture and the video which corresponds to the timestamp and which is provided by the camera equipment, wherein the resolution ratio of the picture or video provided by the camera equipment is higher than that of the video content displayed by the user terminal currently, and therefore, the method and the device could achieve the effect that a user could obtain the picture or the video with relative high resolution ratio in terms of the moment or time frame interested by the user while watching the video content with relative low resolution ratio.
