Controlling the speed of conveyor belts according to the material flow state is currently the new energy-efficient technology used for conveyor belts in bulk terminals. Aiming at formulating a scientific optimization control strategy, a speed control simulation system of bulk terminal conveyor belts based on hardware-in-the-loop technology is established, which is composed of a material flow state acquisition subsystem, a conveyor speed control system, and an evaluation and analysis simulation subsystem. A design idea and solution of the speed control simulation system is first proposed based on bulk cargo terminals with logistics automation experiment systems. Subsequently, the function and hardware design of each subsystem is analyzed. The simulation system will provide a hardware platform for us to study the control optimization algorithm and operating procedures. Further, it will be conducive to probing the realization of optimization the operating procedures in harbor conveyor belts as well as promoting port energy conservation and green harbor realization.
