Optimization of Solar PV System and Analysis of Tilt Angle

This paper presents feasibility study of a standalone solar PV System in a remote village. The key to optimum energy output from Solar PV panels is the tilt angle of the PV panels. The Solar panels are most efficient when they are perpendicular to solar irradiations. The Sun's path and altitude vary through out the year. The focus of this paper is to maximize PV power generation while minimizing the total system cost. Simulation of the system has been done using HOMER. Case study of Sanoder village, Bhavnagar district, Gujarat in India has been undertaken.
