The trouble with Neophyllis pachyphylla (lichenised Ascomycetes)

The genus Neophyllis F.Wilson in Australia is considered to comprise two morphologically and chemically distinct species, N. pachyphylla (Müll.Arg.) Gotth.Schneid. and N. melacarpa (F.Wilson) F.Wilson. The confusion surrounding the application of the former name is clarified and revised descriptions of both are presented.
