Study on equivalent consumption minimization strategy for fuel cell hybrid tramway

Fuel cell hybrid tramway has gained increasing attention recently and energy management strategy (EMS) is one of its key technologies. A hybrid tramway power system consisting of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) and battery is designed in the MATLAB /SIMULINK software as basic for the energy management strategy research. An equivalent consumption minimization strategy (ECMS) for hybrid tramway is proposed and embedded into the aforementioned hybrid model. In order to evaluate the proposed energy management, a real tramway driving cycle is adopted to simulate in RT-LAB platform. The simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed EMS.
