S. Kaczmarz (1895–1939)

Abstract An interpretation of the Kaczmarz algorithm (Kaczmarz 1937) is given and the application of this algorithm to the weight training process in learning control systems employing neural networks is explained. The paper concludes with a brief account of the life and tragic death of Kaczmarz himself.
