Recently, the cabin of the commercial vehicle can be defined in a variety of ways from a driving space to an essential living area or even mobile office space. Thus, the research scope of commercial vehicle should be expanded to reflect a variety of customer activities and enhance usability in package design. The objective of this paper is to investigate the behavioral characteristics while commercial vehicle driving. The main user activities, a total of 59 relevant to commercial vehicle drivers, are selected and classified into three groups; critical, significant and moderate. The behavioral observation is also conducted to capture the important scene by recording the activities in cabin. By taking advantage of observations, the user requirements needed to improve high are derived. The results show that the driver’s waist was bent too much when using the navigation system. In addition, the center-console causes a significant interference for movement between driver seat and rear-bed. The attractive package items and recommendations from the user-centric perspective can be made based on ergonomic evaluation.
