This study attempted to examine the safety management problems of children’s theatre and its venues, and then, suggest the ways of design of efficient safety education program which coincides with children’s status quo in Korea. After identifying the definition of children’ ages and dividing the range of their ages according to their growth, we would like to study the directions of safety management program in children’s theatre and its venues through the case studies of the environment of venues and foreign safety programs. We analyzed main subjects and related environments through precedent studies and deduced core conceptions. In terms of theories, we focused on the Piaget theory for understanding children’s psychological and behavioral characteristics, the Heinrich’s Law with critical incidents for uncovering the reasons of dangerous incidents. Through these foregone and comparative studies with foreign cases, domestic children safety education is not being taught by age specific supervision and centers on uniformalized contents not by experimental education through their bodies. Through these study results, we developed scenarios which are based on 15 expected situations considering 4 core design elements of children’s theatre and then, produced mime videos and animation which includes desirable etiquettes in theatre. In the mime video, we would like to help children’s understandings through the specially designed pictogram according to given circumstances and design animation characters based on their color preference studies. As a result, this study suggested the directions of safety design and education for children in order to prevent their safety incidents and found various approaches available from multiple contents.
