Anomalous motion illusion and stereopsis

A strong resemblance in stimulus configuration among the optimized FraserWilcox illusion Type IIa, reversed phi movement, phi movement, positional illusion, and related 3D effects, is discussed. Although these phenomena cannot be explained by a single mechanism, a limited number of shared mechanisms are thought to underlie them.
