The Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) is a Consortium of nine universities in Ohio, the NASA Lewis Research Center (LeRC) in Cleveland, the Wright Laboratory (WL) at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, and several dozen companies. The goal of this broad collaboration is enhanced aerospace research, advanced educational opportunities and the transfer of technology to industry. The two federal laboratories, LeRC and WL, perform world class research in their advanced propulsion, power, electronics, materials and structures laboratories and extensive wind tunnels and computing facilities. These two federal labs are the magnets for OAI attracting faculty and graduate students to conduct thesis research, and industry researchers.
