Reaction between binuclear iron(III) compounds and DMPO (5,5-dimethyl-3,4-dihydropyrrole N-oxide)

Several binuclear iron (III) compounds with a µ-alkoxo or µ-oxo bridge react with the spin-trapping reagent DMPO to yield DMPO–OH; the mechanism of the formation of DMPO–OH in solution is discussed.
