Parallel and Vector Problems on the FLEX/32

Earlier we proposed [Rice,1985] sixteen problems to test the effectiveness of languages in expressing parallel and vector computations. These problems were presented in ordinary notation (mathematics and English) plus four algorithmic fonns: A) Fortran 77, B) Fornan 77 with extensions (resembling Fortran 8X), C) PROTRAN with extensions and D) Cyber 205 Farnan. We now present these problems programmed for the FLEX/32 multiprocessor in a Concurrent Fortrnn. Our objectives are twofold: 1) to show how these problems appear in this language (which is similar to those on several other multiprocessors), 2) to show the parallel efficiency achieved for these problems. ..
