Association between FCGR2A polymorphism and systemic lupus erythematosus

Objective To investigate the frequency of single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)H131/R131of Fc gamma recepto2A(FCGR2A),and the association between the SNP and systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Methods The SNP of300SLE patients and183ethnically matched normal controls was genotyped by allelic discrimination PCR with ABI Prism7900sequence detector using TaqMan MGB probes.Results There was no difference between SLE group and normal control in frequency distribution of allele and genotype of SNP(P=0.413).TDT analysis showed no preferential transmission of the allele to affected offsprings(P=0.6049).Conclusion The results indicate that the SNP H131/R131on FCGR2A gene has no association with SLE.The FCGR2A gene does not contribute to the susceptibility to SLE in the population studied.
