Design of Network Vulnerability Scanning System Based on NVTs

In the information age, computer systems have a direct effect on the safety and well-being of human beings and hence we must have lower tolerance for vulnerabilities. The vulnerability scanning technology can detect potential network security vulnerabilities, so that network administrators know in advance where the vulnerability of the network is and thus ensure the security of network system. NVT is the network vulnerability test plug-in provided by OpenVAS, which has the huge quantity and provides daily update service. The combination of multiple NVTs is used to detect vulnerability. Based on deep analysis of the current knowledge of the network-based vulnerability scanning and the usage of NVTs, this paper design a network vulnerability scanning system based on NVTs, and carries out a test of the network vulnerability scanning system, and finally presents its application prospect.
