Heave response analysis of Truss Spar in frequency domain

Using the results of hydrodynamic experiments and numerical simulation from former investigations,the contribution of heave hydrodynamic force of Truss Spar is estimated simply.The heave response in extreme ocean conditions is predicted fleetly and effectively.The heave response amplitude operators for different heave plates are obtained through numerical iteration and viscous damping linearization methods respectively.The Heave response extremums were calculated under 3 different extreme ocean conditions in Mexico Gulf,West Africa,and South China sea.The results indicate that the wave frequency exciting heave response is dominated by the incident wave period.Using the JONSWAP wave spectrum,the heave response spectrums are obtained and the rationality and favourable motion behavior of Truss Spar in random ocean conditions are validated.
