Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Active Compensator

A compensator for harmonics and reactive power is presented based on a cascaded H-bridge multilevel three phase inverter. Compensating current is calculated by using concepts of instantaneous power in a very simple way. The current regulation is carried out in a synchronous reference frame and the multilevel inverter is commanded by a sinusoidal carrier based PWM strategy using shifted carrier signal. General discussion of the system and its implementation is given and supported by simulation results
