Deep lamellar keratoplasty dissection of host tissue with intrastromal air injection.

This paper has described the technique of deep lamellar keratoplasty. An injection of 1 cc of air into the corneal stroma facilitates the dissection of lamellae close to Descemet's membrane. It also prevents penetration into the anterior chamber. No serious complications were observed in 10 patients followed from 6 to 36 months.
